Three Primary Search Methods
Retained Search
This type of search is typically conducted at a senior level or for a critical position that requires someone who is currently doing the job successfully for a competitor.

- A Managing Director heads each search, along with a team of search consultants who will commit the majority of their time to filling your position. Please visit www.landstonegroup.com. The Landstone Group will only work with a few companies at a time. This allows us to become thoroughly familiar with your company, be an extension of your firm and represent you the way you would like to have your company represented, while always keeping the strictest confidence. We can devote the proper amount of time to your search.
- A careful analysis of your needs is conducted to determine a profile of the right candidate. Our mission is to present you with 3-4 qualified candidates who are currently doing a successful job and would be willing to make a commitment to change jobs for the right opportunity.
- In depth screening of candidates is conducted prior to your interview. Use of Videoconference and screening profiles are included in the fee.
- The fee is a percent of the candidate's first-year earnings plus expenses that you approve, usually limited to travel and only if approved by you.
- The fee is paid in 3 payments. The first one-third of the fee is paid up front to bind the commitment. The second-third is paid at the time of the interviews. The final third is paid upon start date of the candidate.
- You have a replacement guarantee of 6 months.
Priority Search
- Your search consultant devotes the majority of his or her time to filling your position.
- A search coordinator allocates up to 50 percent of his or her time to support the search consultant in your project.
- Screening of candidates either in person or by videoconference is available at your request.
- The fee is a percent of the candidate's first-year earnings.
- 1/5 -1/4 of the fee is required upon commencement of the search.
- The balance is due upon hiring of the candidate.
- You have a replacement guarantee of 90 days.
Contingency Search
- No financial commitment is required to initiate the search. This is designed for companies that do not want a devoted effort, but want qualified candidates with whom we are currently working. The fee is typically a percent of first-year earnings and is payable at the time the candidate starts employment.
- You have a replacement guarantee of 30 days.
